I like how you made sure to get 5 :vp from the :contract, so you'd be able to trigger the Sub Merch's Replenish ability.

Thanks! :)

With a card draw I could have :ally Restricted Tech Vendor and :crew Imlaii Ergarsuu in play giving a potential Replenish of four (or five if successful with :event Glancing Shot).

After some additional solo play I have replaced:
:crew Flint (x2) with :crew Dezihdhodhunde Mehro (x2)
and
:organization Finch & Cho, CPAs (x1) with :ally Yuryehke, Aslan Trader (x1)

Thanks for posting. I really need to post an amusing deck I made recently.

Looks like not too worried about opponents' crew control plays. It is an advantage of SubMerchant that it can score big without as much reliance on skills. Also, it tends to rely on spending less. Sticking with that theme, I find I really like the flexibility of Freelancer for a low cost way to get an extra VP or two when a particular skill is needed that also has a bit of ability to dodge some crew control plays. A friend of mine really like Infirmary, but that's a different philosophy all together.

See any issues with being able to slow down an opponent? Increasingly I play Misdirection (as an alternative to Call in a Marker). It's affordable and has the ability to slow down an opponent while also having EV-2.

Does Mehro usually get the same :gear or do you like his flexibility?

I tend to use :crew Dez to pull :gadget Babal, TL-11 Translator, :gadget Engineering Kit or :gadget Med Kit depending on what :complication , :subplot or :contract are in play.

I've also replaced :crew Imlaii Ergarsuu (x2) with :crew Mark Appleton (x2) so all of my crew have the Imperial trait and to give some more flexability. Makes :crew Doctor Wishik even more useful.

Have not noticed any issues with a need to slow down an opponent (yet :| ). This deck builds VPs rather quickly and Is very defensive in nature. I did switch up the :event Event cards to reflect this and added :event Overextended due to the amount of :complication I found my self dealing with.

:event EVENT (10)
Anonymous Insertion (x2)
Bwap Advisors
Cold Engines
Glancing Shot (x2)
Just A Little Longer
Overextended (x2)

So, I took look at :event Misdirection … well, what can I say. I like it. Thanks! I replaced one of the :event Overextended with it.

Was this deck specifically created for the scenario? If so, I'd think maybe Ablative Armor would be better than Streamlining Treatment, and Marta Rodriguez doesn't seem like she does much for you. Similarly, RDV Thruster Plate is likely to be rendered ineffective pretty early.

Jeff,

Actually I try not to tune my deck to specific scenarios. Takes away some of the challenge. I actually prefer to theme decks … 8-)

I have the :initiative initiative bonus cards for when I play non-solo games. Especially since the :ship Subsidized Merchant has a paltry :initiative 1.
